Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A comeback Medvedev won his first trophy for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.

This represents the player's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.

The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is really nice," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and regular emotional displays on court had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an better serve.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.

Moutet saved 4 initial break points in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
